250+ attend Indefinite Arts Centre’s AGM + Block Party!

The storm clouds parted ways as more than 250 artists, family members, friends, and supporters of Indefinite Arts Centre came out to celebrate the organization’s 44th birthday with another successful block party!

The 2018-19 fiscal year was one that hit many milestones for the organization. We opened Fridays for the first time in recent history, welcoming an additional 52 artists to our roster. We published our first art publication, Indefinite Volume 1. Our artists participated in their first-ever residency at the Leighton Art Centre. And to support all of these initiatives, we hit a record for individual and corporate donations – up more than 250% over the past two years.

At the AGM, we also welcomed new board members: Anndee King, Beverley Fitzgerald and Michael Parker. We also said a fond “good bye” to long-time board member Marion Nichols, who was recognized for always going above and beyond in support of our organizations and our artists.

In an ongoing effort to increase visibility in the community, the Centre opened all of its doors, sharing with visitors our full 12,000 square foot facility, and organizing a variety of family-friendly workshops and activities – including a button-making workshop, an interactive photo booth, and many others. Momo Movement, IAC’s sister organization, also wowed our guests with a performance from their latest production The Mind Palace.

A special shout out goes to the amazing volunteers from our friends ATB Financial who were experts at the BBQ!
