The Indefinite Arts Centre staff and artists will be busy over the next several months preparing for several prominent exhibitions. In particular, the Centre and our artists’ work will be featured at the upcoming Art from the Unknown exhibition hosted by Premier Rachel Notley and taking place at the McDougall Centre in downtown Calgary from October 21-22, 2017. More details will be confirmed closer to the date.
Thanks to support from the Government of Alberta’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Alberta Hong Kong Office, and the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, close to 20 of our artists’ works will travel to Asia for the first time in our Centre’s history. For three months, these pieces will be featured in the Alberta Hong Kong Office in the Admiralty Centre in the heart of Hong Kong for three months, and then move to Seoul, South Korea, where they will be highlighted as part of a feature exhibit at the I-Eum Centre, Korea’s national arts centre for artists with disabilities. Details of the Asia tour will be announced over the next several months.
These are just some of the many ways our Centre is sharing the work of our artists and advocating for their inclusion in the contemporary arts both locally and abroad — a key pillar of our new strategic direction moving forward.
