Indefinite Arts Centre in pleased to announce the launch of our experimental in-house exhibition series The Art Atlas with the inaugural artist Shary Boyle.
The Art Atlas asks practicing artists to share images that inspire and inform their practice to be displayed at IAC. By relying less on didactic panels, essays and talks, The Art Atlas is a way to share how artists work in a way that aims to accommodate the diverse ways artists interpret the world. This exhibition provides a connection to the broader arts community and contemporary practices, connecting artist to artist.
Shary Boyle works across diverse media, including ceramics, sculpture, painting, installation and drawing. She maintains a dual practice alternating between her studio and collaborative touring of projection/sound performance projects. From Ontario, Shary is a well-known artist across the country and around the world after representing Canada at the 2013 Venice Biennale. Her work can be deeply personal, often dealing with death, aging, injustice, pain, and feeling like an outsider.
